James joined our London office in 2000 and is an Investment Manager. He heads up a 20-strong team managing trusts, pension funds and portfolios for private clients and multigenerational families. He also keeps a keen eye out for any specialist requirements his clients need, such as inheritance tax which his financial planning colleagues can help with.

He is proud of the personal relationships he develops with his clients. He is also eager to help the next generation of financial talent in the UK and sits on the panel for the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment’s (CISI’s) Private Client exam.

A former Army Captain James began his financial services career in 1996 selling UK equities to private banks in Switzerland at Panmure Gordon. He became a Private Client manager at Williams de Broe in 1998, with the team moving to RBC Brewin Dolphin two years later. He is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and a Chartered Wealth Manager.
