In this week’s Brewin podcast we talk to Clare Hart about the quest for dividends in an equity market (the US) which is more famed for growth. At a time when companies are seeing their financial positions stretched we ask Clare what she thinks about firms’ general ability to allocate capital (to choose between reinvesting or distributing their profits and the various ways of doing each). We ask her what specific pressure this crisis has put firms under, and discuss some of the different sectors for which an income approach to investing is either a boon or a burden.
