Ross joined RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2008 and is a Senior Financial Planner in the Edinburgh office. He provides his clients with insight into a number of financial planning areas such as retirement planning, estate planning, inheritance tax planning, school fee planning, tax efficient investments and protection.
He is a strong advocate of cashflow forecasting and helping his clients cope with any bumps in the road. He is also increasingly working with business owners looking to exit and needing financial planning and advice regarding their wealth and future income.
Following University Ross began his financial services career as a Paraplanner at Mearns & Company in 2001, followed by MLP Private Finance in 2004. It was bought by Towry Law in 2007 where Ross worked as a Technical Associate. He then moved to RBC Brewin Dolphin as a Trainee Financial Planner where he started to deal directly with clients. This proved to be his ideal role and has developed over the years into one of the top financial planners in the company. Ross is very proud of how he has helped develop the way Financial Planning is delivered in the Edinburgh office.
