James joined the RBC Brewin Dolphin London office in 2008 and is a Financial Planner. He provides holistic financial planning advice to private clients, working closely with the Group’s Investment Management team.
He is particularly adept at providing advice to elderly clients, having developed specialist expertise in inheritance tax and retirement planning. However, he is also experienced in advising on more general financial planning issues such as pensions.
James began his career in financial services with the accountants Blackstone Franks before joining Advisory & Brokerage Services (A&B) in 1993. During his 15 years there his team focused on the planning needs of high-net-worth clients. He became a Divisional Director at RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2013. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Long-term Care qualification and is an Affiliate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
