Divisional Director – Financial Planner

“I work hard to build trusted relationships with my clients, helping them implement long term, tax efficient and sustainable financial plans that span generations. It’s so rewarding to see plans made many years ago come to fruition.”

Bruce is a Financial Planner in the Edinburgh office. He creates financial plans for a range of private clients and regularly monitors them to ensure they keep meeting their objectives and goals.

His specific areas of expertise include retirement income strategies and succession planning. Inherent in these is tax planning and protection planning. He is proud of the close client relationships he has formed, with him encouraging younger family members to begin their own financial plans.

Bruce began his financial services career in 1989 as a Mortgage Advisor at Stuart Wise Ogilvie before setting up his own IFA business Home Affairs with a partner in 1990. He sold this and then moved to The Grant Smith Law Practice where he set up their Financial Planning division. He joined RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Aberdeen office in 1998, growing the Financial Planning team and becoming Head of Office. He moved to Edinburgh in 2017. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager through the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and has a DipPFS.
