Alan joined our Edinburgh office in 2018 and is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Scotland Charities team. While he has a few non-profit clients and pension schemes, charities are his main client base.

A large part of his role is helping trustees of these charities invest their charity’s money to best meet their financial needs. He specialises in ethical as well as environmental, social and governance investing.

Alan started as a Credit Analyst at the Bank of Scotland in 2005. After completing an Investment Analysis masters in 2010, he worked as a Research Analyst and then a Fund Management Assistant at Barrie & Hibbert and Turcan Connell respectively. He moved to Barclays Wealth in 2013, working as a Portfolio Manager, before joining RBC Brewin Dolphin. He is a CFA Charterholder through the CFA Institute and a Chartered Banker through the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
