We are delighted to invite you to our event series focused on the key things to know in 2025. Taking place across the UK in January and February, join us to discover our investment thoughts for the year and a deep dive into pensions, trusts and tax planning.
Our events will feature breakfast or lunch, networking opportunities, and two hours of structured CPD. This is a great chance to gain insights, connect with peers, and engage in meaningful discussions.

Speakers
Steve Sayer, Utmost
Steve has been in financial services since 1987, where he has provided tax and trust technical services to international life companies specialising in non-domiciled clients and IHT planning. He has also been involved with cross-border planning and developing products for the UK high net worth market. In addition, Steve has regularly delivered workshops and seminars to financial advisers and private bankers in both the UK and Switzerland.
Tony Wickenden, Technical Connections
Tony is the Founder and Managing Director of Technical Connection. He provides relationship, project and thought leadership in serving our institutional and adviser clients. This includes the design and implementation of tax planning and marketing solutions and strategies for product providers, platforms and fund management groups. Tony is also deeply involved in the creation and delivery of adviser development programmes and client and professional connection engagement strategies and tools. Tony regularly contributes content on tax planning to various professional and sector publications as well as delivering presentations at financial services, tax and trust conferences for clients and professional bodies.
Janet Mui, RBC Brewin Dolphin
Janet Mui, CFA is Head of Market Analysis at RBC Brewin Dolphin and a voting member of the Asset Allocation Committee. She is part of the investment solutions team which generates central investment guidance and manages a range of risk-rated portfolios.
Janet plays a key role in communicating the firm’s market views and investment strategies to a broad spectrum of clients. She is responsible for curating bespoke market insights to support business development and client engagement. She also chairs the Investment Communications Forum which shares intelligence on what matters most for our clients and how we communicate accordingly.
Peter Lawlor, Expert Pensions
Peter has worked in UK pensions technical roles continuously since 1987 and in that time has developed a deep and extensive knowledge of UK pensions legislation.
Over a career of 30+ in pensions technical support, his specialist expertise is in occupational pension rules and regulations, specifically in the application of rules and regulations within an occupational pension scheme framework.
John Reynolds, Expert Pensions
John Reynolds has worked in UK pensions continuously since 1995 and is a Chartered Fellow (Financial Planning) of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, a Certified Financial planner (level 7), Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the PFS and has a Masters degree (Business planning and Financial Services) from MMU.
