Brewin Dolphin, one of the UK’s largest independent private client investment managers, is the proud sponsor of International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) 2010.

The Birmingham office of Brewin Dolphin announced its sponsorship of one of the world’s biggest dance festivals, at yesterday’s IDFB launch party at Birmingham Hippodrome.  IDFB 2010 is curated by DanceXchange, a dance house dedicated to the production and distribution of high quality dance, and Birmingham Hippodrome, home to the best in arts and entertainment.

John Driver, Divisional Director, Brewin Dolphin Birmingham, said:
“At Brewin Dolphin, we have prided ourselves on providing an excellent quality of investment services for our clients.  We’ve found like-minded partners in Birmingham Hippodrome and DanceXchange, who have offered the highest standards in dance for many years. We’re delighted to sponsor an event that reaches out to so many different audiences and that reminds the world of Birmingham’s reputation as a home to creativity, industry and talent.”

David Massingham, Artistic Director, DanceXchange and Co-Director of IDFB commented: “Investment management is all about being responsive, fleet of foot and enterprising.  We’re delighted Brewin Dolphin is sponsoring International Dance Festival Birmingham, an event that’s all about innovation and vision, packed full of creativity.”

Stuart Griffiths, Chief Executive, Birmingham Hippodrome and Co-Director of IDFB commented: “Brewin Dolphin is an ideal sponsor for the second year of International Dance Festival Birmingham.  We felt the Festival needed a supporter that shared the heritage of the partner organisations, was a trusted fixture on the Birmingham landscape, and shared our desire to extend its clientele, and impact positively on the local community.  Brewin Dolphin fits the bill on all counts.”

The festival takes place from 19th April to 16th May 2010.  Showcasing a huge range of dance styles at venues across both the city and the region, highlights include: a new solo Kathak work by acclaimed choreographer Akram Khan; the National Ballet of Cuba featuring guest appearances by Carlos Acosta; Mark Morris Dance Group with the orchestra of English National Opera; Strictly Come Dancing The Professionals; Sutra, a stunning dance piece featuring 17 monks from the original Shaolin Temple in China; and C!RCA, a thoroughly new circus show combining dance with jaw dropping acrobatics.  Alongside these large-scale theatre productions, there will be a host of other activities and events including free outdoor spectaculars, a weekend for children and families, and many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to take part.  Visit www.idfb.co.uk to see the full festival programme.
