Janet Mui, CFA is Head of Market Analysis at RBC Brewin Dolphin and a voting member of the Asset Allocation Committee. She is part of the investment solutions team which generates central investment guidance and manages a range of risk-rated portfolios.

Janet plays a key role in communicating the firm’s market views and investment strategies to a broad spectrum of clients. She is responsible for curating bespoke market insights to support business development and client engagement. She also chairs the Investment Communications Forum which shares intelligence on what matters most for our clients and how we communicate accordingly.

Janet has a stellar global media profile and strong broadcast experience. She appears regularly on the BBC News, Sky News, CNBC and Bloomberg to share the firm’s market views. Janet has been recognised by the BBC news as an expert on China since 2018 and is often invited to comment on breaking macro news in the region.

Janet was named LinkedIn Top Voices in Finance (global) 2022 and Top voices in Finance (UK) 2023, an invitation-only group of experts across Linkedin. She was awarded “Best Industry Commentator” at the City of London Wealth Management Awards 2021. 

Janet holds an MBA in Finance from Cambridge Judge Business School and a First-class BSc in Economics from London School of Economics. In addition to being a CFA charterholder, she also holds the CFA Certificate in ESG investing and Postgraduate Certificate in Econometrics from Birkbeck College, London. Janet is originally from Hong Kong and is a native speaker in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Prior to joining RBC Brewin Dolphin, Janet was the lead global economist at Cazenove Capital for nearly a decade.
