Brewin Dolphin, the wealth manager, has announced its sponsorship of Pension Awareness Day and Pension Awareness Live Week , the annual campaign run by Pension Geeks to help raise awareness and understanding of pensions, money and wellness.
Pension Awareness Week Live will take place as a virtual event between Monday 14th and Friday 18th September, with the official Pensions Awareness Day being 15th September.

Each of the days will give members of the public the opportunity to view live webinars on money topics, engage in one-to-one chats with a guider, submit questions via a chat bot, plus access to financial wellbeing related blog content, watch helpful videos and animations and access useful FAQs.

Richard Harwood, financial planner at Brewin Dolphin will host a live session at 09:30 on Wednesday 16 September on ‘Have I got enough to retire?’ followed by a Q&A.

Robin Beer, CEO at Brewin Dolphin, said:“The good news is that people are generally living longer but this brings with it financial challenges. The more initiatives there are to help inform and educate people, so that they can plan for a long and happy life, the better.

“Pension Awareness Day and Pension Awareness Week Live are great initiatives that have been building over a number of years. We need to get people more engaged with their finances and understand that if they save a little and often from a younger age, than they will reap the benefits. For those that haven’t focused on long-term saving, and are perhaps a little older, all is not lost, taking advice so you can understand how much you will need in retirement, and what you currently have, is a great step forward and allows you to take control of your future.”

Jonathan Bland, Head Geek, Pension Geek’s, added: “We started Pension Awareness Day back in 2014 and since then it has gone from strength to strength. For 2020 we are back with one simple aim – to help with pensions, money and wellness. There is no bus this year, but we are hosting a virtual experience with an online platform. We’re so excited, there’s nothing as innovative as this currently in the market”.
