Tom Blathwayt

Kelly Eva
Tom leads the sustainability team, which is responsible for defining and overseeing the implementation of Brewin Dolphin’s approach to sustainability. This includes driving the company’s ESG strategy and responsible investment propositions, shaping engagement and stewardship activities, and leading corporate responsibility activities.
Tom started his career at strategy consultancy Monitor, where he was a founding member of the Inclusive Markets practice. From 2013 to 2015, he lived in India, where he co-led the Monitor/FSG Mumbai office, focusing on the social and environmental challenges faced by fast growing businesses in emerging markets. He was previously an executive director at Nesta, the innovation foundation, responsible for early stage investments and spinouts, and a portfolio board director at Walking Ventures VC. As an independent strategy consultant, he has advised leading private equity and venture capital funds, impact investment firms and corporates on sustainability strategy. Tom has a degree in modern languages from Cambridge University and an MPA (Master Public Administration) from Harvard.
Kelly becomes Brewin Dolphin’s sustainability manager having previously been an investment manager in the charity team, where she developed a passion for, and expertise in, responsible investment. She has been at the company for eight years and in that time has completed the CISI wealth manager qualification and CFA certificate in ESG investing. Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin, she worked at Lloyds Banking Group as part of the corporate markets graduate scheme. Kelly graduated with a first-class degree in economics and finance from the University of Exeter.
Richard Buxton, group people and sustainability director, Brewin Dolphin, said: “We are thrilled with the appointments of Tom and Kelly, who together will lead the charge to develop our sustainability proposition further. They both bring a host of relevant skills and strong experience to their roles, combining Kelly’s in-depth knowledge of wealth management with Tom’s global sustainability expertise. I look forward to seeing how they will further shape and implement our vision for sustainability.”
