Brewin Dolphin announces new Regional Managing Director for the Midlands Region

Brewin Dolphin is very pleased to announce that David Strange has been appointed to the Board of Brewin Dolphin Limited and Regional Managing Director of its Midlands Region following the retirement of John Cadwallader. The Midlands Region includes Birmingham; Cheltenham; Hereford; Leicester; Lincoln, Norwich; Stoke; Llandudno and the soon to be opened Chester office.

David Strange began his career in the City as a ‘Blue Button’ in 1964 and five years later moved to Lincoln where he established his career in stockbroking and investment management, becoming a partner at Hill Osborne in 1973. David was made Senior Partner of the Lincoln office in 1980 and in 2000 played a leading role in the merger of Hill Osborne with Brewin Dolphin.

Brewin Dolphin is the largest independent private client investment manager in the UK managing £21 billion of funds in more than 100,000 client accounts; of this, £10 billion is on a discretionary basis. The Group has 38 offices of which nine are in the Midlands region. The Group provides complete investment management for private investors, charities and pension funds and is corporate adviser to around 140 small and medium sized quoted companies. Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking was voted AIM Broker of the Year 2007 1.

Commenting on the Appointment, Jamie Matheson, Executive Chairman of Brewin Dolphin said:

Although he is retiring from full time executive duties, I am pleased that John’s expertise will not be lost to the group entirely as he has agreed to continue to work with us on a consultancy basis on a number of special projects.”

David Strange added:

David lives in Lincoln with his family and among his outside interests are motor sport and skiing.
