Facing Chinese turbulence with Fidelity's Dale Nicholls

Share

China has been on a rollercoaster for the last year with some indices entering a bear market during 2018. Defaults are rising and the yuan is falling but that creates opportunities for fund managers with the flexibility to take them. One such fund manager is Dale Nicholls who manages the Fidelity China Special Situations Investment Trust and he joins Guy Foster, Brewin Dolphin’s Head of Research to discuss the opportunities which may exist for investors in the Chinese market, notwithstanding the looming risk of more tariffs on Chinese exports. Dale talks about the opportunities he is seeing, the different tools he has to exploit them and the compares the fortunes of the big Chinese internet giants in a week that has seen mixed results from their US equivalents.
