LEADING North East investment management firm, Wise Speke, has rewarded the dedication and accomplishments of one of its most talented young investment experts, Michael Rankin, by promoting him to assistant director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael, 32, who works in the company\u2019s Teesside office, joined Wise Speke in 2000 as an investment advisor and from there quickly progressed to investment manager level. Specialising in the management of portfolios for private clients, Michael clearly made his mark on the company from the very beginning and has progressed to the senior role of assistant director in less than seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on his recent promotion and his swift journey up the career ladder with Wise Speke, Michael said: \u201cPassing my Securities and Investment Institute Diploma – one of the industry\u2019s most highly respected qualifications, was a big challenge and certainly no mean feat whilst also juggling the demands of my everyday role.<\/q><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It\u2019s thanks to the support of colleagues at Wise Speke who have helped nurture me along the way, that I\u2019ve been able to progress to my position as assistant director and I\u2019m very much looking forward to taking up the challenge of my new role.”<\/q><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael, originally from Gateshead, graduated from Northumbria University with an Environmental Management degree in 1998 and started his career as a stockbroker with Barclays in the late 1990s where a secondment in Glasgow enticed him into a long term career into the investment industry. He moved back to the North East at the beginning of 2000 to take up his career with Wise Speke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wise Speke is a division of Brewin Dolphin Ltd and employs more than 300 people in its Newcastle and Teesside offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
