ISA Management
The Group offers ISA management, providing a tax-favoured element either to complement your main investment portfolio or as a stand alone service. Interest, dividends and bonuses from investments held in an ISA are exempt from further income tax, and capital gains on those investments are not liable to Capital Gains Tax.
Please note that tax legislation is subject to change.
Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs)
You may invest up to £7,200 per tax year in a Stocks and Shares ISA.
From 6th October 2009 the ISA subscription limit increases to £10,200 for anyone eligible to invest in an ISA who was born on or before 5th April 1960. The higher limits will apply to all eligible investors with effect from 6th April 2010.
Within your ISA you can invest in any company that is traded on an exchange recognised by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. The underlying portfolio can be tailored to your individual investment criteria and therefore can be designed to achieve either income, capital growth or a combination of growth and income.
Your ISA can operate as part of an overall investment strategy or as a stand alone service and there is no minimum holding period. Companies can also take advantage of our Corporate ISA services for their employee schemes.
Please remember that the value of your investments and any income from them may fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invested.
ISA Transfers
For ease and convenience you can also choose to transfer to our management any of your existing ISAs, including savings in any Cash ISAs, which you currently hold with other managers. Money subscribed to Cash ISAs in the current tax year can also be transferred, although it will be subject to the annual subscription limit of £7,200.
This will help ensure that the investment management of your tax efficient funds complement that of your overall portfolio.
Please note that your existing ISA manager may charge you for transferring your account from them. Your existing ISA manager may also require that your holdings be sold and that the transfer be made in cash. If so, there may be a period of time when you are not invested.
Mini and Maxi ISAs no longer exist. Mini Stocks and Shares ISAs and the stocks and shares component of a Maxi ISA automatically became Stocks and Shares ISAs.
