Biography

Alec started his investment career with Fuller & Co in London in 1972. He qualified for and became a Member of the Stock Exchange in 1975. He returned to his native Scotland in 1982 to join Wood Mackenzie. In the subsequent break up of that company he became a Director of Robert White & Co which subsequently purchased Bell Lawrie. Alec came to Glasgow in 1995 to manage the private client department of the new office. Alec is, so far, the only Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in Scotland, an honour awarded for his services to the investment industry in Scotland.
