Brewin Dolphin has had a presence in Cheltenham since 1985 when it traded under the name of Vivian Gray. The office then became part of Bell Lawrie White and changed its name to Brewin Dolphin after the merger of the two companies in 1993.
It has grown considerably since the early days, absorbing the Gloucester arm of a leading competitor in 1997. Today the office is comprised of 17 people, including five Divisional Directors, of which one is a Financial Planning Consultant. Together, they have more than 150 years’ stock market experience.

After Radley College, Durham University and the College of Law, Edward started his stockbroking career in 1997 with James Capel in London. He joined the Birmingham office of Brewin Dolphin in 1998, subsequently moving to the Cheltenham office in 2001. As well as managing discretionary equity and bond portfolios, Ed also runs portfolios comprised exclusively of collective investments for individual clients, family trusts, SIPPs and charities. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. In his spare time he is a governor of Pinewood School and a Fellow of the University of Gloucestershire.
