Managed Portfolio Service

Our Managed Portfolio Service (MPS) gives access to the best fund managers selected by our in-house Research team. It’s designed to meet the needs of a wide range of clients, whatever their needs and risk appetite.

What is MPS?

MPS is designed exclusively for the financial adviser marketplace. It offers a range of managed portfolios selected by our in-house, expert research team.

The portfolios are tactically adjusted each month to reflect our Asset Allocation Committee’s view on the most appropriate mix of assets to hold for a given investment objective and key changes in the market.

MPS predominantly invests in actively managed funds, though we will include passive funds where we think it will benefit the portfolios in the long run. The underlying funds are selected on a fiercely independent best-of-breed basis: we are not tied to any fund manager, bank or insurance company.

Key facts about MPS

Seven model portfolios, each aligned to a specific investment objective and attitude to risk

Active asset allocation of lower-cost passive funds

Management fee of 0.3% with low charges on underlying funds

Robust and repeatable investment processes

Each portfolio’s ESG score is independently assessed by MSCI and holdings are UN PRI signatories

All portfolios are risk-mapped against Dynamic Planner, Defaqto, EValue, Finametrica, MorningStar, Oxford Risk and Synaptic

Why choose the RBC Brewin Dolphin MPS?

Your client relationships always belong to you

MPS allows you to outsource the day-to-day management of your clients’ investment portfolios, while preserving your client-adviser relationships.

With the RBC Brewin Dolphin MPS, your client relationships always belong to you. You match your clients to one or more MPS portfolios and monitor the portfolios’ ongoing suitability. Our job is to run the MPS portfolios on your behalf.

We consistently deliver what advisers need

We are committed to responding to advisers’ evolving needs.

In the first half of 2018, we enhanced our MPS further by introducing a fresh, more institutional-style investment approach. This has made our portfolios more efficient and brought economies of scale, driving down costs with meaningful reductions across the service.

We believe it is increasingly important to understand how fund managers integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their fund decision making and their approach to stewardship.
